So I decided that it would be a great idea to go out and see the sunrise over the Atlantic this morning (that’s Heather there, dipping her toes in to try and wake up!):

Our footprints…

I thought this lifeguard tower made an awesome silhouette:

Looking back toward our hotel (we’re in the building all the way to the right, with the red writing on the side):

After another Jamba-breakfast, we picked up my brother and headed for the beach again, this time to try and get some sun!
Heather in her hat…isn’t she just adorable??

And me with my complete and utter lack of a tan:

Another few shots on the walk back:

It’s sort of odd to me that something as simple as the breeze blowing through the palm trees can be so altogether soothing and wildly intoxicating at the same time. It’s been a long time since I closed down any bars, but the wind in the palms is just about enough to make you feel years younger and able to party in the city where the heat is on! I think there may have been a Will Smith song about that…
Today is our last day here, and tomorrow morning we have to be at the airport at 6am to catch our 7:15am flight back to Pittsburgh. Whoever came up with these insanely early departure times obviously never had to take one. It’s been a great visit nonetheless, and it was wonderful to see all my mom’s family again, especially my grandmother. Getting to know my cousins has been wonderful as well, and hopefully we’ll be able to see each other again soon! Until then, Facebook will have to do I suppose!
