Oh, the places you’ll go…

Oh, The Places You’ll Go

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.

OH! THE PLACES YOU’LL GO!
You’ll be on your way up!
You’ll be seeing great sights!
You’ll join the high fliers
who soar to high heights.
You won’t lag behind, because you’ll have the speed.
You’ll pass the whole gang and you’ll soon take the lead.
Wherever you fly, you’ll be the best of the best.
Wherever you go, you will top all the rest.

Maybe it’s a little overused, but if you haven’t ever read the book, it’s worth the five minutes it takes. It’s amazing how many of life’s lessons a children’s book can squeeze into such a small amount of space. As you might have guessed, a few of my friends got their degrees from Penn State this May, and here are a few of them by the Nittany Lion shrine. For those of you who don’t know, this is the obligatory place to take your picture when you graduate! And sometimes the line gets awfully long…

Amber, who got her Master’s degree in Education (did you know you can tell by the color of the hood?):

Kess, who got her Bachelor’s degree and got a job at Duke University:

And Megan, who’s doing service work at an orphanage in Mexico, just across the border from San Diego:

Good luck and best wishes to all who graduated this year!
