Phillip Mackenzie – Photographer bio picture

Welcome, friends.

Welcome. I'm Phillip Mackenzie, and I love taking amazing and remarkable photographs of amazing and remarkable people. I've been doing it since I was old enough to squeeze a camera shutter. I also happen to have a few degrees (well, three) in music. They're more related than you might think. I play the piano, married the most wonderful woman in the universe and we have an adorable baby daughter named Calleigh (pronounced like the state, not the dance). I'm obsessed with movies, music, books, playing golf and tennis, and taking photos of my daughter. I probably need professional help for my Mac, iPhone, Canon, and DQ Blizzard addiction.

I'm glad you've found me and can share in my obsession. We're all obsessed with something. We're all amazing in some way. So come join me and we'll be remarkable together.

Yes, I'm on Twitter.

Sage & J.C.

A few weeks ago on a gorgeous late autumn afternoon, I got to shoot a wedding with a lovely couple, Sage and J.C. Sage works in interior design, and judging by what she did for all the decorations for the ceremony and the reception, she must be absolutely fantastic, so if anyone’s looking for an interior designer I’d suggest you hire her! All the details were lovely and tied everything together in the same theme. The reception was at the lovely General Potter Farm just outside of State College. It’s a renovated furniture showroom and has tons of character and great lighting, making it one of the best reception venues I’ve seen so far. Another local photographer, Andy Colwell came along to second shoot with me…it always makes the day easier when the photographers can be two places at once!

A few from the hair salon, Studio 35…including the first time I’ve had the tables turned on me so early in the morning!

Congratulations, you two! It was an honor to be able to share your day with you. (They’re going to Australia for their honeymoon in a few months…totally jealous!)

Andy - Nice work - I kept seeing you with that single lens on the whole gig thinking "So why hasn't he switched?" Now I know haha. Thanks for the opportunity to shoot and the shoutout as well.

Amber - Fabulous photos!

Phyllis - Phillip, these pictures are wonderful! You did such a great job capturing their day.

Carolyn - Awesome, as always!
